2) UPDATE ON PETER'S NEW WEBSITE AND "THE RAVEN"
We're working hard on both, and hope to unveil them soon. Thanks for your patience -- we are sure you'll be happy when you see what we've been putting together for you.
3) PETER'S FIRST CHILDREN'S BOOK SOLD TO BLUE SKY PRESS
It's a delight to announce that Peter's first children's book has just been bought by the Blue Sky Press, a subsidiary of Scholastic. This as-yet untitled story is tentatively scheduled for publication in 2005, with illustrations by the award-winning team of Leo and Diane Dillon.
Here's a sneak peek at the opening paragraph:
"From the tips of his twisted, spiky horns all the way down to his jagged claws, the monster was without any doubt the biggest, ugliest, most horrible creature ever made. Since his master had put him together out of spare parts lying around the house, some bits of him were power tools and old television sets, while other bits were made of plastic and wood and stone. His fiery eyes were streaked red and yellow, like the autumn moon, and even his ears and his hair had claws."
4) SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! -- A SEQUEL TO 'THE LAST UNICORN'?
Well, not exactly a sequel: more of a coda, actually.
It's an absolutely astonishing novelette called "Two Hearts," and -- without giving anything away at all -- we'll just say that if you are any kind of fan of THE LAST UNICORN, then you *have* to read this. Peter has waited 36 years to tell the world more about Schmendrick and Molly Grue and Price Lir and a certain questing unicorn...and well, the wait has been worth it.
First publication of "Two Hearts" will be in early 2005, in the form of a collector's edition chapbook included in Conlan Press's UNABRIDGED LAST UNICORN audiobook. That audiobook, by the way, features Peter's own inimitable reading, art by Leo and Diane Dillon, and original music from Jeff Slingluff.
