PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH US WHILE WE CATCH UP?

A little perspective. Lionsgate Entertainment, through all their mass retailing connections at Wal-Mart and K-Mart and Target and so on, all over the United States, have just sold 35,000 copies of the new LAST UNICORN DVD in the first week of its release. That number is right on their projections and they are very happy. So are we. Good for Lionsgate!

Meanwhile, through the Conlan Press website, Peter's fans have now ordered 1,627 copies of the new DVD, around 1,400 of those before the official February 6th release date — and frankly, we just weren't ready for it. We were expecting a pre-release maximum of maybe 300 copies, tops, not more than five times that number. (Which is why we only ordered 1,000 copies in our initial buy from Lionsgate...though we quickly doubled that number when we saw what was happening.)

So we are running behind. But we're working hard to get caught up!

We ask your patience while we deal with four things:

          1) It takes time to prep each copy for autographing. The shrink-wrap and security seals have to be removed without damaging either the DVD or DVD packaging, and the printed art has to be removed from behind its transparent cover.

          2) It takes time for Peter to sign each copy, since he is signing in three places and one of the autographs is typically personalized to customer specifications. Also, he can only sign 250-300 a day before his hand starts to give out, and he isn't available for signing every day. He's got book and story deadlines to meet!

          3) It takes time to put everything back together, pack it safely for shipment, and deal with all the post office labeling.

          4) We're still waiting for our second 1,000-copy order to arrive from Lionsgate.

Right now at least 400 copies have shipped out, and we expect another 200-300 to go out tonight. At this pace we WILL get caught up — but it has definitely been a scramble, and we hope you can be patient with everyone on this end while we manage it.
